Sarah Houlihan

Sarah is an accredited counsellor with APCP working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, loss and bereavement, work and relationship issues. She believes that you are the expert in your own life. Her role is to work alongside you, helping you explore what matters most and supporting you in moving toward the goals you bring to therapy.
Specialities
Experience
Sarah works in a humanistic way, guided by the core principles of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. She aims to offer a warm, accepting space where you feel heard, understood, and valued without judgment. While her foundation is humanistic, she also draws from other approaches when helpful, such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She tailors the work to suit your needs, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. She follows the ethical guidelines of the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists (APCP) and works under regular clinical supervision to ensure safe, professional, and effective support.
