Child Therapy

Because their verbal language is not always developed in a way that would allow them to communicate their feelings and thoughts, children can often manifest their emotional state through their behaviour. What at first seems like defiance, screaming, lack of concentration, learning difficulties, social issues, aggressiveness, tantrums, lack of motivation, low self-esteem, can actually be related to emotional difficulties and how they interface with the world around them and struggle. It is in this regard that therapy can be helpful for both the child as well as the parents, helping them to identify the reasons behind the behaviour and resolving it. It can also be beneficial to offer a differentiated setting.

FAQ
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, we accept most major health insurance providers for child therapy services. Parent/guardian consent and involvement is required. Please check with your insurance provider for specific coverage details.
What ages do you assess?
Child therapy is for children aged 5-12 years. We use age-appropriate, play-based therapeutic techniques. For teenagers, we offer specialized adolescent therapy.
How do I choose the right therapist for my child?
Our child therapists are experienced in working with children and use play-based and creative approaches. We consider your child's age, temperament, and specific concerns when making recommendations. An initial consultation helps ensure a good match.
What happens if my child is not suitable for this assessment?
During the initial consultation, we assess whether child therapy is the most appropriate intervention. If alternative support is needed, we provide referrals to other specialists such as educational psychologists, occupational therapists, or pediatricians.
How long is each session and how many will I need?
Child therapy sessions are typically 45-50 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on the child's needs and response to therapy. Parent consultations are included to discuss progress and strategies for home. Most children benefit from 10-15 sessions, but this can be adjusted.
